The European Union Agency for Fundamental Rights (FRA)
The FRA monitors racism and xenophobia in the EU member states. Its 2007 Annual Report addresses discrimination in the fields of employment, housing and education across the 27 Member States.

Shadow Reports on Racism in Europe
The European Network Against Racism (ENAR) published an EU-wide Shadow Report in 2006 identifying trends concerning the phenomenon of racism. It addresses many faces of racism and discrimination in Europe at both legislative and local levels, from policy to practice and includes a compilation of grassroots data collected by a large network of NGOs.

Eurobarometer Special Survey on Discrimination in the EU
Published in January 2007, this survey addresses perceptions, attitudes, knowledge and awareness of discrimination and inequality in the European Union. In the report the six legally prohibited forms of discrimination in the EU are examined: discrimination on the basis of gender, ethnic origin, religion or beliefs, age,disability and sexual orientation.

OSCE Database on Tolerance and Non-Discrimination
Launched in 2006, this information portal provides a wide range of information on issues of anti-semitisim, freedom of religion, gender equality, hate crimes, etc.

Developing Anti-Discrimination Law in Europe
Comparative study published in 2006 on how the 25 EU Member States have implemented EU Directives on Racial Equality and Employment Equality into national legislation. Country entries were prepared by independent national experts in each member state. 

Migration and Anti-Discrimination Country Reports
Migration Country Reports published by the Migration Policy Group contain information on immigration management in 18 European countries and cover the terms of the policy debates, the stakeholders, and national legislation in comparison with proposed Directives. Anti-discrimination Reports contain information on anti-discrimination law and policy in 28 European countries.

Measuring Discrimination. Data Collection and EU Equality Law
Study published by the European Commission in 2006 and authored by Timo Makkonen, European Network of Legal Experts. It reports on the challenges and difficulties for monitoring and comparing relevant data in the EU States - e.g. on issues such as "national (ethnic, racial) origin" and "religion" and provides an overivew of who is collecting what, which categories and definitions they are using, etc.
