Creating the Anna Lindh Euro-Mediterranean Foundation for the Dialogue between Cultures (ALF)
The ALF was launched in 2005 as the first common institution jointly established and financed by the European Union and all 35 members of the Euro-Mediterranean Partnership. It acts as an umbrella network for 37 national networks of diverse civil society groups and institutions which comprise over 1000 member organizations working promote dialogue between cultures.
Conclusions of the Council of the European Union on Intercultural Competences
During the 2868th EDUCATION, YOUTH AND CULTURE Council meeting in Brussels on the 21st May 2008, conclusions for action in the fields of culture, education, youth and audiovisual were adopted.
Agreed Conclusions of the Euro-Mediterranean Conference of Ministers
The Athens Conference on 29-30 May 2008 builds on the conclusions of two previous meetings of the Euro-Mediterranean Ministers of Culture and the meeting of the Euro-Mediterranean Ministers of Foreign Affairs (2003) devoted to the dialogue between cultures. Views on the cultural dimension of the Partnership were not only expressed in the fields of arts and heritage, but also with regard to exchanges in cultural policy, including the development of synergies with other policy areas such as education and economic affairs.

Webspace which houses relevant information on the strategy, methodology and conceptual basis for the Council of Europe's White Paper exercise 2006-2008. The final version of the White Paper has been launched on 6-7 May 2008 by the Ministers of Foreign Affairs of the Member States of the Council of Europe.

United Nations
Alliance of Civilizations
In 2004, the Secretary-General of the United Nations launched an initiative, co-sponsored by the Prime Ministers of Spain and Turkey, for an Alliance of Civilizations. A first implementation plan 2007-2009 was presented in 2007 and includes the setting up of an AoC Secretariat at UN Headquarters, a series of joint projects with partners within and outside the UN system, and a clearinghouse function. The plan focuses on youth, education, and the media.
