Simona Bodo

Simona Bodo is an independent researcher with a particular interest in the social agency of museums. In recent years, she has been acting as advisor of both public and private institutions (e.g. Brera National Picture Gallery; Department of Culture, Province of Milan; Associazione per l'Economia della Cultura; ECCOM - European Centre of Cultural Organisation and Management; Fondazione ISMU - Initiatives and Studies on Multiethnicity; ERICarts) in a number of research and training projects investigating the intercultural potential of heritage education programmes.

Between 2004 and 2005, she was scientific advisor and project manager of two major international conferences on interculturalism: When Culture Makes the Difference: Heritage, Arts and Media in Multicultural Society (jointly organised by Associazione per l'Economia della Cultura and the University of Genoa) and Shifting Cultures. Tools and Resources for an Intercultural City (jointly organised by Associazione per l'Economia della Cultura and the Department of Culture of Provincia di Milano).

On behalf of Fondazione ISMU, one of the most authoritative think-tanks on immigration and multi-ethnicity in Italy, she has developed an on-line resource specifically devoted to intercultural heritage/museum education (www.ismu.org/patrimonioeintercultura).

Among the most recent publications she edited on the issue of intercultural dialogue: A Brera anch'io.
